Securing Our Future: Best Practices for the 21st Century

Recognizing the Threats & Developing Administrative Tools for Protecting Animal-Based Industries

Conference is on Friday, August 26, 2011
8:00am to 5:00pm
Welcome Social Event the Evening Before:  Thurs, Aug 25th
5:30pm to 8:00pm

Why should you attend?

We are in unprecedented times as animal extremists are attacking on multiple fronts.  All areas of agriculture, biomedical research, medical training, dog breeding, zoos and other animal-based industries are under direct attack by animal rights organizations.  Our continued ability to provide safe, affordable, healthy food is a serious concern as well as being able to develop medical advances, train health professionals and even breed dogs!

Protection During Hiring Process

One of the most vulnerable areas in the workplace is during the hiring process.  It is imperative that personnel responsible for hiring understand critical issues when choosing new employees that will have access to your facilities, animals, personnel and intellectual property.  Knowing how to screen potential employees can help prevent hiring an animal extremist seeking a job for the specific purpose of causing harm to your business, employees, animals and industry.

Objectives

This conference is designed to help people from all animal enterprises collaborate with each other and understand the animal welfare issues and similarities we all face when dealing with animal extremist groups.  With this background and knowledge, animal-based industries can work together and achieve a positive influence on the public's understanding of our industries.  Participants will walk away with specific recommendations to effectively screen potential employees that may be animal rights extremists with definite plans to achieve continued support for appropriate animal use and for protecting their animals, facilities, staff and business.
